Why are wire rope goods used in the construction industry?
The construction industry requires the heavy moving, lifting, suspending, and lowering of various materials, objects and construction pieces such as concrete blocks. much better than standard rope for construction projects, particularly if it is non-rotation rope.
How are ropes used in the construction industry?
Rope made from wire is commonly used with other forms of lifting gear, such as cranes, for the completion of construction projects. As they are able to support a high level of weight, stress, and tension, they are perfect for the heavy lifting that cranes do. Other items that the material might be used with in the construction industry are sheave wheels, which can hold up to 200 tonnes in weight, and in typical construction machinery found on a work site.
Construction projects themselves may also be completed with the use of rope, whether this is internally or externally. Such projects include suspension bridges or concrete columns, and more often than not the material provides the critical supporting structure that holds constructions together, such as with a multi-story building. Famous construction projects that have been completed in the industry using the lifting medium include impressive buildings such as the
Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, and other projects, such as the
Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.
