Our multi leg slings combine flat webbing or round slings with assemblies/fittings such as master links, shackles and hooks in their design. We also produce multi-leg slings of the wire rope variety.
All multi leg slings are fully tested and released with a test certificate. Safety is a particularly important consideration for these types of slings.

Multi leg slings – Webbing Type
Web slings are commonly available in various types. There are single layer webbing slings (simplex), double layer webbing slings (duplex), four layer webbing slings (double duplex). Multi leg web slings are also commonly used. 2, 3 or 4 leg multi-leg slings are available and come with a choice of end fittings to suit your lifting application.
A good rope or web sling manufacturer are also often able to offer disposable one way slings. These are used once and disposed of. Often used in demanding conditions which can affect the webbing. If the company has its own machines then most slings can be re-webbed when stitching becomes loose etc. A further product available for use with web slings are protective sleeves, which slip onto the sling to further protect the parts which take most wear and tear. Slinging Safely
Looking after your multi-leg sling is crucial. Prior to each use the sling should be checked over for any defects. Anything which may affect its performance these include worn eyes or distorted fittings, cuts, holes, burns or broken stitching. If any of these defects are noticed then the sling should not be used under any circumstances and disposed of. All fittings should be checked for defects too. Every six months or so a regularly used web sling should be inspected by a qualified person and re-certified if safe to use. Safety is always the most important aspect to consider when lifting and moving large objects.
The main aspect to a safe lift using a sling is balancing the load. This can be fairly difficult to determine, as the sling needs to be placed evenly around the centre of the loads gravity to ensure an even balance. If a load is not well balanced it could cause the lift to fail, with possible damage to the load, equipment and injuries to persons in the area.
Always evaluate the load, to determine the weight, shape and size. Ensure your slings are capable of lifting this weight.
Always find the centre of gravity (CofG). This is where the main lifting hook on which the sling is placed should be directly over the CofG. Position the slings evenly spaced around this point then test lift. If the load tilts in any way then the slings will need to be repositioned. This may need to be done many times until the load is evenly balanced and safe.
